Food scholarship winners to double export

Business Sweden continues, within the framework of Food From Sweden, to award its food scholarship to four food companies once a year. The objective is for the winning companies to double their exports within five years.

In 2015, Alvesta Glass, Nils Oscar Company, Jämttugget (with the brand Mörsjö Deli) and Leksands Knäckebröd won the award including the scholarship. The companies are offered preparatory coaching from our regional export advisers, activities abroad in conjunction with Business Sweden’s international offices and thereafter evaluation at home.

The food scholarship is worth SEK 140.000 and the companies are being coached for a period of two years by Business Sweden’s regional export advisors. The only condition is that the winner of the award spends 400 hours working with export sales during the two year period.

Swedish export of food stuffs was SEK 69.3 million in 2014. Large enterprises represent the main share of exports, but small and medium sized business can contribute to the overall exports by internationalisation and product development.
