The delegation consisted of Government representatives, the Mayor of Agadir and nine of the sixteen largest real estate development companies with investment plans of about 80 billion dollars over the next five years. Between 2012 and 2016, Morocco plans to invest 130 billion in transport infrastructure. 16 Swedish companies with good business opportunities in sustainable cities and transport infrastructure participated.
The purpose of the visit was to facilitate market entry and to create conditions for business opportunities for Swedish suppliers of goods and services within the area of smart, energy-efficient buildings and cost-effective alternatives to rail transport in Morocco.
