European Investment Bank (EIB) was founded 1958 in conjunction with the Treaty of Rome and supports projects that contributes to meaningful growth, employment, economic and social cohesion or sustainability in, or outside, Europe.

EIB is the only bank which is owned and represents the European member countries interests and is the world’s largest multilateral bank. 90 % of the activities are targeted to Europe, however, financial services are also offered outside of the EU. EIB has six focus areas; small and medium-sized companies, regional development, environmental sustainability, innovation, trans-European infrastructure networks and energy.

There are many possibilities for Swedish companies to win projects funded by EIB, either as a single company, or as a part of a consortium. The projects vary depending on scope and industry; it may involve building a new hospital in Great Britain, or developing a water system in Bangladesh.

Business Sweden has developed contacts within EIB and possesses a great understanding of the procurements. We can assist in analyses regarding your procurement possibilities, observe relevant and upcoming procurements, or identify appropriate partners when arranging consortiums.

Please contact our office in Brussels to discuss your possibilities within projects financed by EIB.
