Business Sweden, in collaboration with Istanbul Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB), organized B2B Meetings Day on 20th of November in Stockholm in order to develop trade relations between the two countries in ready wear manufacturing sector.
A total of 15 reputable Turkish apparel manufacturers with impressive international references met Swedish fashion brands and agents and showed their most innovative and sustainable products.
Turkey is the world's 8th largest supplier in apparel export and apparel sector is the second largest sector of the country with 17 billion $ annual export. IHKIB (Istanbul Apparel Exporters Association) is the biggest sectoral institution in Turkey with a main goal is to increase Turkey’s talent on garment and apparel exportation and to introduce the sector globally. With that mission in mind, IHKIB and Business Sweden made a cooperation to organize an event that will provide a platform for both Swedish and Turkish companies to benefit from.
The organized event provided an excellent opportunity for Swedish fashion brands and agents to develop their supplier/partner base and grow their international business.
At the end of the B2B day, 25 Swedish fashion companies participated in meetings and more than 200 meetings took place. Business Sweden also organized a visit to Stockholm Fashion District, and arranged a presentation by Association of Trade Partners Sweden management for the Turkish manufacturers.
The feedback collected both from Swedish and Turkish companies showed that there is a huge potential for Swedish and Turkish companies to have a sustainable long-term relationship. Business Sweden and IHKIB decided to work on planning further activities and develop existing relations in near future.
