Today, the Netherlands is Sweden's seventh largest export market, and an attractive market for Swedish companies. With a strategic location and a highly digitized society the country offers more than tulips and the canals of Amsterdam. The Dutch market is growing, which benefits Swedish companies producing innovative and qualitative products.

Approximately 17 million people live in the Netherlands, on a surface of 41 500 square kilometer, making the country the most densely populated in Europe. The country exists of 12 provinces, with the economic center in the two provinces Zuid- and Noord-Holland. Thus, the Netherlands are often called Holland in English, which is fully accepted by the Dutch.

The Netherlands is an interesting test bed for further expansion to countries in Europe, with a similar business climate to Sweden. The Dutch economy is expected to grow with 3,3 % during 2017. The construction industry is currently booming in the Netherlands and there is a growing demand for engineers, main-contractors, and sub-contractors.
