Swedish Business Awards


The Swedish Business Awards is annually presented to companies registered in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania that have demonstrated innovativeness, outstanding business achievements and contributions to society and environment.

The awards were founded in 2006 by Business Sweden, the Embassy of Sweden in Lithuania, Swedbank and TeliaSonera, and have since the inception attracted an extended number of business partners, thought leaders and politicians. After several few successful years in Lithuania, the awards were also initiated in Latvia and Estonia in 2009. The project aims to provide positive examples for international establishments and Swedish-Baltic cooperation, as well as to convey Swedish values ​​in business conduction. Furthermore, the event serves as a yearly meeting point for the business, science and political community, to discuss achievements, practices, challenges and trends.  

In 2016, the awards in Lithuania were organized by the Embassy of Sweden in Lithuania and Business Sweden in partnership with the Swedish Institute, Teo LT, Omnitel and Valiunas Ellex, and the communication partner Delfi.


Sustainable Growth Award
LT Technologies
LT Technologies is a metal-tech company established in 1997. It specializes in the production of metal structures used in the medical industry, shopfittings and furniture.
The company was awarded for balancing remarkable financial growth and environmental awareness, for being an active member of the local community through involvement of employees as well as disabled people and for demonstrating that social responsibility is an essential ingredient in the recipe of business success.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
TRAFI is a public transport app designed to plan journeys using real time data, scientific algorithms and machine learning.
The company was awarded for a brilliant business idea encouraging the use of public transportation and thus reducing the pollution and for creating a worldwide leading service.
Technological Innovation of the Year Award
Prof. dr. Virginijus Šikšnys
Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys was awarded for an extraordinary innovation with a wide field of application, for a huge potential to improve the lives of millions of people and for proving that through hard work and persistence the biggest ideas can be created in the smallest of countries.


This year, the Swedish Business Awards in Lithuania takes place on the
19th of October , where,  To be Announced later, . Nominations are open for all companies, organizations and individuals active in Lithuania. Deadline for applications is To be Announced later. Finalists of the Awards will be announced in the middle of September. This year’s categories and respective criteria are as follows:

Sustainable Growth Award
Criteria: Harmonious development of the company – turnover growth with positive results during 2011-2016 and contributions to environmental and social sustainability.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Criteria: A young and inspiring entrepreneur with a good reputation and a sustainable business that makes an impact to the market or society at large.

Technological Innovation of the Year
Criteria: The most remarkable technological innovation that was implemented during 2015 or 2016. The technological innovation can be related to all aspects of the company’s or organization’s activities: new services, products, or work policies and approaches.
