The Czech Republic has manufactured and delivered more than 32,000 aircrafts & 37,000 engines worldwide. The Czech aerospace industry employs approximately 10 000 people and is home to more than 100 local companies. There are around 20 local OEMs, for example Aero Vodochody and 30-40 strong local Tier 1-3 suppliers. The headquarters of the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency is also the first EU-regulatory body to establish in the Czech Republic. The Aerospace industry has a well-developed supplier base and there is a multitude of Czech companies that could be an interest to the Swedish suppliers of technologies and components.
Czech Republic has become one of the largest manufacturers of light and sports aviation (UL/LSA) in the world. More than 25 local companies produce small aircrafts in the segment. Light and sport aviation is one of the two main focal points in Czech Aerospace industry and the second is manufacture of components for large aircraft, military aircraft and helicopters. The involvement in the supply chains of large global producers such as Airbus, matches the Swedish advanced aviation manufacturing.
