With the aim to enter a list of the Top 30 highly developed countries in the world by the year 2050, Kazakhstan is on the way of developing a transparent and effective business culture that is attractive for international companies, including Swedish ones, for establishing themselves and achieve their full international potential.
In 2015 Swedish export to Kazakhstan amounted to SEK 670 million, and consisted mostly of electrical, electronic equipment, machinery, pumps for liquids, boilers, iron and steel, tools, implements, cutlery, others of metal base equipment. Swedish companies actively operating in Kazakhstan represented in major sectors of the economy - telecommunications, agriculture and food processing, mining, healthcare, transport, power.
Business Sweden has been active in Kazakhstan since 2008 with the office in Almaty city, financial and cultural capital of the country. Starting from 2015 Almaty office became a regional hub for Central Asian countries covering Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
Over the last years, Business Sweden organised more than ten successful business delegations to Central Asia and Azerbaijan focusing on the most promising sectors in the region, such as agriculture, ICT, mining, waste management, healthcare, railway, oil & gas, power etc. All business delegations were headed by the Ambassadors of Sweden, joined by the representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
