The SymbioCity seminars on 29 May in Beijing and 31 May in Shanghai were organized by Business Sweden in collaboration with IMT (Government Offices of Sweden´s International Environmental Technology Cooperation), the Ministry of Environmental Affairs, the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, and the Consulate General in Shanghai. The minister had an extensive program meeting several Chinese Ministries and other key organizations. A MoU was signed in the field of water purification and discussions on the highly relevant air pollution topic were held. The good Sino-Swedish relations have an important impact for Business Sweden´s future E&ET activities in China.

Two SymbioCity seminars were held in connection with the visit, one in Beijing on May 29 and one in Shanghai on May 31. At each seminar the participating Swedish companies introduced their solutions in panel discussions, covering the topics of Energy Efficiency, Waste to Energy, Water treatment and Sustainable Urban Planning. At both locations the seminar attracted more than 120 people consisting of governmental officials, University leaders and Chinese E&ET companies. In addition several contracts were signed between Swedish and Chinese companies in connection to the seminars.
