Swedish design on display in Mexico

From 2nd to 4th of May a delegation called “Sweden in Mexico – Design and Fashion 2017” took place in Mexico City. The event was organized by Team Sweden (Swedish Embassy in Mexico and Business Sweden Mexico) in collaboration with Addrede, and the purpose was to promote the creative industry and share ideas between the two countries.

Six companies participated in the delegation, Kajsa Cramer and Fine Little Days from Sweden,  and Addrede, ID Studio, Trouvé and Hästens as distributors for Swedish brands in Mexico.

Sweden´s ambassador to Mexico, Annika Thunborg carried out the inauguration at Franz Mayer Museum, where about 500 people attended. The participants were designers, journalists, and representatives from the Mexican and Swedish community. The exhibition will be shown at the museum until the 21st of May 2017, it shows pieces from over 20 Swedish companies, from interior design to a special H&M design.

During the delegation´s three days, the companies participated in roundtables, workshops, B2B´s and guided tours through museums and department stores, the aim was to learn about the Mexican design industry as well as to create a platform for Swedish design in Mexico.
