Accelerating growth in emerging South East Asia

Volvo Buses is part of the Volvo Group and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of buses and coaches, with focus on quality, safety and sustainability. The company has been present in Asia for decades, primarily on the developed markets, but sees large growth opportunities in the high-growth ASEAN region.

“The Mekong region is a highly dynamic and fast growing region, with large needs for efficient transport solutions” David Mead, Vice President Volvo Buses - Asia Pacific, explains. “Except for Thailand, Volvo Buses has limited presence in the Mekong countries, but we see increasing opportunities for us to grow in these countries.”

In order to better understand and prioritize the opportunities in the fast growing Mekong countries, Volvo Buses turned to Business Sweden for support. Business Sweden has analysed several of the Mekong markets and has identified growth opportunities for Volvo buses, as well as recommended target customer segments and outlining a strategy for accelerated market penetration.
