Succeeding in India through perseverance

an image
Solvina, a mid-sized technical consulting organization focused on power and process sector, are now ready to take on the Indian market after registering a company and employing a few people to further grow their business.

Solvina is built around an engineering team of highly specialized experts with deep expertise in providing know-how and services to improve the performance and availability in power and process sectors. Typical services include power system analysis, island operation testing or energy optimization solutions among others.

Solvina has primarily worked in the Nordic region and a few European countries, and wanted to explore their opportunities in other parts of the world. After a couple of years of hard work and perseverance in India, which resulted in a couple of pilot studies, today Solvina has a local partner, and is taking the next step by registering their company in India and employing a few people to further grow the business.

- To enter a remote market like India you really need local support, to get around, knowing the market, the business culture, the language, and not least, the business and tax regulations. Business Sweden has really been helpful in guiding us into India, speeding up our learning curve and providing continuity, says Niclas Krantz, Managing Director of Solvina International AB.

Local support in every phase

During 2011, Business Sweden introduced Solvina to the Indian market through a project analysing the market for the company, and identifying key stakeholders and potential local partners. For next two years, Solvina used a Business Sweden employee as their representative to cultivate the relationships with existing and new high potential companies in India. Solvina also leveraged Business Sweden offices in to display a local presence, utilizing parts of the Business Support Office (BSO) service package. Upon taking the decision to establish their office in India, their team is now operating out of Business Sweden’s office in Delhi

- It has been a very good collaboration with Solvina over past couple of years. They have been determined from the very beginning to develop the market but didn’t want to commit full resources from the start. We worked together to develop a win-win solution leveraging our local knowledge and presence in India, says Sandeep Sampla, Project Manager at Business Sweden in India.
