Hammarprodukter AB is a family owned business founded in 1965. The company, based in Bjursås, manufactures signs, marking systems, and other related products primarily used in the power industry by electricity grid and railway network systems. Hammarprodukter is the market leading company in the Nordic region within its niche in and has therefore an extensive network of distributors with prestigious customers such as E.ON in Hungary and ERDF in France. High quality and personal service are the cornerstones of their corporate strategy.
From electric utilities to ski resorts
The collaboration between Business Sweden in France and Hammarprodukter began in 2006 with the goal to present the company’s offer within bird protection for the national electricity distribution company EFDF. After initial meetings and product evaluations, a test installation was conducted in the southwest of France in 2008, which was followed by a positive result in the next two years. In April 2010 Hammarprodukter participated in a national buy-out conducted by ERDF and after that the company became a listed supplier and signed a two-year contract. Another bidding procedure was completed in 2012 and the current contract will last until April 2015.
In 2009 Business Sweden started a discussion with companies in the French Alps about their problem with large birds who flies in to the lift device, more specifically in the cables. Several of these owners quickly installed bird protection offered by Hammarprodukter, “Firefly”. The product has after that been modified and the new version is called “Firefly alpine”. Since early 2014 the distribution is handled by the “Firefly Alpine” who is a local partner, identified and evaluated by Business Sweden. The distributor is based in the French Alps and has the right connections and a product offer that complements Hammer Products’ catalogue.

Since the beginning of the collaboration Business Sweden has acted as Hammarprodukter AB’s representative on the French market and has managed all relationships and tasks related to their business development. This work has proved successful and sales have continuously increased during the last years.
