Business Sweden supports FLIR System’s market growth in Taiwan

FLIR System is the world’s largest producer of commercial thermal imaging systems and sees Taiwan as a key market for its growth in Asia. In order to efficiently establish a strong organization in Taiwan, FLIR turned to Business Sweden.

FLIR Systems is the world’s largest producer of commercial thermal imaging systems. FLIR offers a diversified portfolio that serves a number of applications in government & defense, industrial, and commercial markets and is seeing strong growth in demand for its products globally.

In 2007, FLIR realized that Taiwan, being a technology focused market with a large manufacturing base offers great potential for the company and turned to Business Sweden for support. In order to achieve desired growth on the market, Business Sweden supported FLIR to identify competent distributors, as well as set up a local B2B hotline service to support FLIR efficiently manage income leads.

In 2014, in order to further manage the market growth, FLIR Systems decided to set up its own presence in Taiwan. Business Sweden was then assigned to support FLIR to recruit its first employee in Taiwan, as well as to support with HR services and co-working space at Business Sweden’s office. This helped the company gain a local presence, while minimizing risk and having a short time to market. The support continued to 2017 when the company moved out from Business Sweden, set up a regional R&D center and expanded to more than 10 employees in Taiwan.
