FLIR Systems designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes technologies specializing in thermal imaging systems, visible-light imaging systems, locator systems, measurement and diagnostic systems, and advanced threat detection systems. FLIR contacted Business Sweden Istanbul office in late 2015 to ask for assistance in finding a business development manager for its test and measurement line of business. The company had been active in the Turkish market through distributors for some years but recently, the management had seen the need for a local business developer to guide and to grow the company’s existing distributor pool.

Business Sweden assisted FLIR to fine-tune the job advertisement according the local market requirements, advertised the opportunity via several channels, shortlisted the suitable candidates, executed face-to-face interviews, set meetings for FLIR representatives to meet with the selected candidates and finally completed the reference checks.

More importantly, thanks’ to the expertise of Business Sweden’s consultants in Turkey, FLIR was able to meet only with the best seven candidates. Business Sweden applied a structured screening and evaluation process, reporting to FLIR on regular basis. The final recommendation on shortlisted candidates was based on a weighted average score reflecting the evaluation of candidates based on several skills and achievements.
