Cellwood’s head office and R&D centre are located in Sweden, with sales offices in Canada and China as well as representatives all over the world by agents or own personnel. Well-known brands are Krima, Grubbens and Algas.
The first machinery plant was sold to China in 1986, and after long-term development of the market, Cellwood decided to increase their presence in China in 2007. The first step was to have own staff in Shanghai, but support was needed in terms of recruitment and guidance forward. Since then, ongoing support from Business Sweden has grown Cellwood’s presence in China.
Business Sweden initially recruited Cellwood’s first local engineer, and used Business Sweden’s office space, back-office and financial administrative support in the form of a Business Support Office (BSO) solution. Between 2007 and 2014, several incremental steps have been taken to increase the presence in China, including recruitment of four persons, location search and establishment of trading company, support on trademark issues, HR, equipment regulations, supplier check and ongoing outsourced financial control support and identification of new location for additional expansion.
- Business Sweden Shanghai’s support means a lot for Cellwood´s success in China, says Eva Hult, owner of Cellwood.
Cellwood has now wrapped up the practicalities related to the relocation of office and warehouse, and continues to actively work on the Chinese market, with a recent participation at the annual China Paper Technology Exhibition in Shanghai.
- Business Sweden has done a good job, and we appreciate the assistance of the long-term senior staff in Shanghai, says Henrik Lefvert, CEO.
