The specialty foods industry in the U.S. has been growing steadily for the past five years and reached sales revenues of 120.5 BUSD in 2015. Sales and distribution of food in the U.S. involves many intermediaries and becoming a vendor to larger chains is a demanding process. However, market trends are in favour of brands marketing themselves as being natural and of a specific heritage, offering great potential for Swedish food producers to enter and compete on the market.
