USA: Opportunities within retail

The U.S. retail industry is worth 2.8 trillion dollars, with nearly 10% growth from 2008 to 2013. Sales dollars within apparel and footwear as well as health and beauty saw the largest growth during this period, aside from rapid and innovative growth in internet retailing. Within the food industry, consumers desire high quality foods, while food chains look to diversify their product range.

Despite the U.S. market’s demand for high quality products like those offered by Swedish retailers, Swedish companies are underrepresented in the U.S. due to perceived challenges. In this report, we identify these challenges and how to best overcome them.
