North & West Africa: Transportation Opportunities in the Region

Transport infrastructure is a crucial driver of North and West Africa’s development but is lagging in several countries. The region’s transport sector received investments worth $14bn in 2017 and forecasted infrastructure investments throughout Africa illuminate large future investments in all transport sub-sectors. Although challenges are plentiful, rising incomes, technology and improved trade relations present new growth opportunities for the private sector.

Supported by major global investors, our focus countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria and Ghana) have put transport infrastructure investments at the core of their national development plans and are implementing multiple projects within the road, railway, port and airport subsectors.

In this context, Swedish expertise and solutions can come into play within the different segments of the transport sector.
