With low barriers to entry, the Canadian confectionery market is a sweet place for Swedish producers to target for expansion

Canada is an exciting market for confectionery producers. The newly implemented CETA-Free trade agreement allows 91% of all food & beverage products to enter Canada tariff-free. Positive developments were seen in chocolate and sugar confectionery in 2017 with growth rates of 3.3% and 1.4% respectively. Additional opportunities exist in specific sectors like on-the-go packaged products and healthier snacking options.
