Electric Vehicles Delegation to China

Business Sweden invites you to participate in a three-day business delegation program with focus on the Electric Vehicle industry in China.

In China’s 12th five-year plan, electric and hybrid vehicles have been pointed out as one of seven strategic future sectors. The demand of converting the fossil fuel vehicle fleet towards more environmental-friendly transportation is a global hot topic and focus area on both political and industry-level.

The technologies and sustainable business models for Electric Vehicles (EV) are still in its infancy worldwide and the market is an “open playground”. China has strong political support and plans for the EV development domestically which has been confirmed during a Business Sweden study program in Shanghai and Beijing.

Guangdong provincial government encourages the development in the new energy industry and in March 2013, the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province published Guangdong Provincial New Energy Vehicle Industrial Development Plan (2013-2020), with over 50 companies and their projects being identified as key development areas in Guangdong’s EV industry. Shenzhen City of Guangdong Province is one of the 3 major cities that actively promote the use of EV for public transport and for family use. At the end of last year Shenzhen has over 3,000 electric vehicles (mainly bus and taxi) running, which is the largest number around the world. The city aims to produce 200,000 EVs in 2015. Currently, there are 62 charging stations and over 2,400 charging posts installed in Shenzhen. Pingshan New District of Shenzhen City has a state-level EV production base that the government promises to invest over 10 billion RMB in the next few years.

Based on the above and additional information, we believe that there is high potential for Swedish companies within this industry in South China.

To further promote an increase of exports and presence of Swedish products and technologies within the EV industry in China, Business Sweden is organizing a business delegation consisting of Swedish companies, to visit Guangdong and to present business opportunities and business match-making meetings between Swedish exporters and Chinese buyers.
