With among the highest number of fatality and serious injuries in the OECD countries, South Korea is dedicating large efforts to create safer traffic solutions. The Korean government is allocating huge resources to reach its goal of lowering the road fatalities with more than 40% until 2016. Swedish companies and initiatives within road safety, such as the Vision Zero program, are leading practices globally and have a high influence in South Korea.
The recently signed MoUs between VTI and KOTSA (Korea Transport Safety Authority) and KOTI (Korea Transport Institute) has expanded the relationship and cooperation within road safety between Sweden and Korea. This further increases the recognition of the Swedish brand within road safety on the South Korean market.
