Business Sweden invites you to participate in a Swedish business delegation to the WFP, FAO and UNHRD in Italy. Minister for Trade Ms Ewa Björling will participate in this delegation, led by Mr Jonas Hafström, Ambassador and Senior Advisor to the Minister for Trade.
The World Food Programme (WFP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome and the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) in Brindisi have been identified by Business Sweden as key UN bodies when it comes to the most attractive United Nations (UN) business opportunities for Swedish companies. Together the three organisations procure goods and services from their headquarters in Italy for over 1 billion SEK per year. Business opportunities can be found in many sectors but Business Sweden has recognised the following areas of special interest to the WFP, FAO and UNHRD:
Transport systems (e.g. 4x4 vehicles, pick-ups, ambulances and busses and storage)
Health care and Life science (e.g. Medicine, laboratory equipment, vaccines and personnel protective equipment)
Energy and Environment (e.g. Power supply, eco-driving, sustainable fuel solutions)
Civil Security (e.g. Field facilities solutions, transportation security)
Office Supply (Equipment for offices and meetings)
The objective of the Swedish business delegation to the United Nations in Italy is to enable Swedish companies to start new or increase current sales to the UN organisations WFP, FAO and the UNHRD.
During the past year Business Sweden has identified key UN bodies and procurement segments of relevance to Swedish companies. Best practice methodologies of UN procurement were also mapped out as well as information that will help the Swedish companies optimise their business opportunities with the UN.
By participating in the delegation you will get the opportunity to learn more about the UN bodies based in Rome, their needs and purchasing procedures, business opportunities as well as present your company´s products and services. You will also visit the UN humanitarian response depot in Brindisi to gain a better understanding of how the UN works and how it operates logistically.
It is now time for Swedish companies to benefit from the experience, contacts and reputation that Sweden has in the United Nations, and this delegation provides an excellent opportunity for Swedish companies to meet with the right UN organisations and their key decision makers in the procurement divisions.
Register your interest to participate by filling in the form below no later than 18th of November, 2013. For more information about this delegation please contact:
