BIG INVESTMENTS TO CONTINUE
The Saudi Arabian health care sector continues to be the largest health care market in the Middle East with large planned investments in both the private and public sector. The share of the health care and social affairs budget allocations are approximately 28 billion USD for 2016. The rapidly growing populations, rising life expectancies, the high increase of lifestyle related diseases and ambitious medical infrastructure projects are driving the health care industry in Saudi Arabia. Across the country, new health care projects are planned, including; three new hospitals, blood banks, numerous medical clinics and primary health care centres. Apart from this the country is continuing the construction of 117 hospitals and eight medical cities. Swedish companies are encouraged to be present and active in construction of hospitals and hospital management. There are extensive opportunities in supplying medical devices for different areas e.g. lifestyle related, non-communicable diseases i.e diabetes, cancer and cardio vascular disease. Other areas with opportunities are within hematology, e-health, dialysis, infection control and intensive care products and services.
