Business Sweden, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Embassy in Nairobi and Kampala in collaboration with Ericsson are planning to host exciting ICT conferences with key officials and companies from both the local markets as well as Sweden. The dates are 28th of January for Kampala and the 30th of January for Nairobi.
Speakers - including government officials, authorities, companies, operators and industry experts from both countries - will interact and present their views on and business concepts related to ICT.

Driving the innovation race are the young urban population on these markets
Mobile data/internet continues to dominate the internet market contributing 99.0 percent of the total Internet/data subscriptions. The number of estimated internet users was recorded at 16.2 million in Kenya alone.
Uganda/Kenya both have 3G net and 4G/LTE rollout is expected to take place 2014 both in Kenya and Uganda at an estimated cost of 700 milj USD.
Large infrastructure investments are being made both from the public side as well as from the major operators themselves and more the 500 km of fiber is being rolled out during the coming years.
