Opportunities to meet leading South Korean Life Science companies in Seoul and to attend BioJapan2013 - Asia's largest bio-related business matching event.
Delegation visit to Seoul, South Korea, October 7-8, 2013
Swedish companies are offered unique opportunities to meet major South Korean companies as well as SMEs in primarily medical technology/devices sector. The aim is to open up for contacts between Swedish and South Korean companies, to generate common R&D projects through the EUREKA network and to generate business opportunities.
Sponsorship for Swedish companies is made possible through VINNOVA since South Korea is an assigned Eureka country. This means that if a Swedish company can identify potential South Korean partner companies to its R&D project, it may apply for sponsorship from VINNOVA and then together with the South Korean partner develop a common project plan and search for Eureka funding.
We foresee to attract a group of around 10 companies to the delegation. The companies that are selected can expect sponsorship in the area of SEK 10,000 - 15,000 or so (TBD by VINNOVA). This means that add-on cost to also attend BioJapan 2013 is not so high.
A match making session between South Korean and Swedish companies will be managed in the afternoon on October 7th. October 8th will be devoted to further company meetings. The companies that are interested in attending BioJapan 2013 will be leaving for Tokyo in the evening of October 8th.
It is our hope and belief that this activity will contribute to strengthening of the very good relations between Sweden and South Korea and to generate a higher number of not only Individual EUREKA projects but also bilateral Eurostars projects under H2020.
The organizers of the delegation visits are Business Sweden, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, www.business-sweden.se and VINNOVA (as part of the EUREKA activities) in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Seoul, Business Region Göteborg, Invest in Skåne, Stockholm Business Region Development and Västerbotten Investment Agency.
