The objective of the business delegation is to strengthen the commercial partnership between Sweden and Saudi Arabia as formalized in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2011. The discussions will focus on key topics relevant for the participating Swedish companies and the key decision makers from Saudi Arabia. The program includes seminars with Ministry of Health and National Guard Health Affairs as well optional hospital visits in Riyadh, all designed to help you boost your relationship with the largest buyers of health care and life science products and services in the country.
Driven by a growing population and one of the worlds highest ranking countries related to lifestyle related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension; there is a great demand for better health care services and products. The Saudi Arabia health care sector - one of the fastest growing sectors in the Middle East - has shown strong and continuous growth over the last decade. As the need for investments in services and facilities increases - thereby generating a lot of opportunities for Swedish companies - the value of the health care sector in the Middle East is expected to reach approximately $60 billion by 2025.
Government plays a vital role in the health care sector and alone covers 75% of the total spend in the sector. To support commercial cooperation a Memorandum of Understanding was established between the Saudi Arabia and Sweden in 2011. The delegation is headed by the State Secretary, Lena Furmark, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs in cooperation with Swecare and Business Sweden.
