Czech Republic and Slovakia have become one of the most important automotive hubs in Europe. The automotive industry output in these countries is currently ca 2,5 million vehicles. There are around 1000 automotive suppliers, 250 of which are on the Tier 1 level, 50% of those are companies with local decision-making. Most of the local suppliers also operate towards the German automotive industry.
Several new car plants have either been recently opened or being currently constructed, which will support production levels. Many Swedish suppliers are already a part of the Czech and Slovak automotive supply chain, serving primarily as Tier 2 suppliers to the local Tier 1 suppliers.
During the seminar, Nikki Brandt, Trade Commissioner, and Vitaliy Tsvyntarnyy, Senior Project Manager at Business Sweden in Prague will speak about recent developments in the Czech and Slovak automotive sectors, peculiarities of the local supply chain and concrete channels to the market for Swedish automotive suppliers.
