Swedish State Visit to France to attract investment

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will pay a state visit to France on 2-4 December 2014 at the invitation of President François Hollande. Ylva Berg will, together with Jens Spendrup, president of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, lead the business delegation.

The week goes by the name "La Suéde en lumière" (Sweden in the light). The light is a key element, and a symbol, in the Swedish tradition. The aim is to awaken the French curiosity and interest in Sweden as an innovative and environmentally conscious country.

- I am proud to be a part of this national effort to strengthen the relations between Sweden and France. The business delegation provides an excellent platform to build on our already strong trade relations. Business Sweden has an important mission here – to get Swedish companies to grow internationally and attract foreign investment to Sweden, says Ylva Berg.

For Swedish companies, this state visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen trade relations, make new contacts in France, present Sweden as an attractive investment country and investigate the conditions for Swedish investments on the French market.

Themes or the state visit is science and research, environment and integration issues, and Sweden as a creative culture and lifestyle nation.
