IRAQ ASPIRES TO DOUBLE ITS OIL PRODUCTION BY 2016: 20 BILLION USD IN ENERGY INVESTMENTS IN 2013
Iraq has the fourth largest oil deposits in the world and investments within the energy sector are given top priority by the Iraqi government in order to ramp up the oil production to 4,5 million/bpd by the end 2014 and 6 million/bpd in 2016. This requires extensive investments in the infrastructure and related services, estimated to hundreds of billions of dollars from both public and private industry players. Hence, there are numerous lucrative business opportunities in Iraq for Swedish companies that offer products and services needed within construction, exploration, production, transportation and security.
