Welcome to participate in the Swedish infrastructure delegation to Bangladesh to meet with key representatives within infrastructure from central level as well as from the private sector.
The delegation will be arranged by Business Sweden in close cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka and Ambassador Johan Frisell will lead the delegation.
Infrastructure is a key competitive factor in today’s world to achieve and maintain high economic growth and a high attractiveness for cities from a business and investment perspective. The Bangladeshi infrastructure industry is today one of the least developed in the world and the government has set “Vision 2021” to transform Bangladesh to a middle income country by 2021. Infrastructure is playing an important part in achieving that goal. The country has significant infrastructure needs and the government are focusing investments on various infrastructure developments including power and energy, water resources, roads, bridges, railways and ports. The World Bank and the Asia Development Bank (ADB) also contributes with significant investments in these areas.
Sweden has through the years developed both innovative models as well as innovations which can work towards developing sustainable urban planning in a cost effective mechanism. If you are a company that can support the growing needs for sustainable urban development this is a unique opportunity for you to enter and expand business in Bangladesh.
The Swedish infrastructure delegation to Bangladesh aims to meet with key representatives from the public as well as the private sector. This will open up for you to market your solutions and services to the major infrastructure players in Bangladesh. During the visit you will interact with decision-makers, influencers and investors. Business Sweden is also available to support by setting up customised meetings based on your requirements. This will be done as an add-on to the days of the delegation, either prior to/and or after the delegation program.
The delegation will discuss issues such as:
- Business opportunities for Swedish companies on the Bangladeshi infrastructure market
- The new government’s plans for the sector – what are the focus areas?
- The purchasing process – what does it look like and how can you take part in it?
