China Food and Beverage Market Seminar in Gothenburg

Business Sweden invites you to a seminar where updates on the Chinese food market will be presented. Swedish companies with interest in exploring and expanding to the Chinese market should participate.

With the rapid economic growth, China has become one of the world's largest consumer markets for food and beverage (F&B). The rapid development and the increase in disposable income have fuel the demand for imported F&B and allowed Chinese consumers to purchase food on higher-valued food products and imported products. The prevalent food safety scandals in recent years have resulted in heightened awareness of food safety issues, and substantially undermined Chinese consumers' confidence and trust in domestic food products, leading to a greater demand for foreign brands.

According to the Association of Food Industries, China will become the world`s largest consumer of imported food with a market valued at up to US$80 billion by 2018. The Chinese market is undoubtedly an attractive market with great opportunities for imported F&B, however, obstacles for entering the Chinese market remain. There are various reasons for this, including entry barriers related to the legal and regulatory environment, cultural differences, language, and the operating environment for both exports and investments into China. Therefore, a market entry into China has to be well prepared, well researched and targeted.

At the seminar, we will provide you with an overview and updates of the Chinese food market including the following topics:

  • Market overviews featuring information on market size, growth drivers and trends

  • Distribution channels

  • Insights from the Chinese industry players, e.g. distributors/retailers

  • Practical information in regards to the import procedure of F&B products to China

  • Opportunities and challenge for Swedish companies

The seminar is free of charge. Please register below.
