EU Commissioner Phil Hogan will continue his series of foreign diplomatic missions aimed at opening up new markets for EU agri-food products with a visit to Canada on and will during his visit join the official opening of the SIAL Canada 2017 international food fair in Toronto.
SIAL attracts more than 850 national and international exhibitors from 50 countries hosting over 15,000 buyers from Canada, the U.S., and 60 other countries. For European companies this is a great opportunity to meet with new customers and partners on the Canadian market as EU will feature as the region of honor at this year’s event. One of the reasons why EU is the selected region is the CETA agreement which is coming into force in 2017 and will bring large possibilities for the food & beverages industries of two parties.
Companies can apply to be part of the delegation which will include opportunities to take part in various business and press events in Toronto, meeting local buyers and the media. Companies are also welcome to visit Business Sweden’s office in Toronto while in Canada to meet with our team in Canada.
