Canada Food and Beverage Market Seminar in Stockholm

Business Sweden invites you to a seminar where updates on the Canadian food market will be presented. Swedish companies with interest in exploring and expanding to the Canadian market should participate.

With the upcoming implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, a free-trade agreement between Canada and the EU aiming to eliminate 99% of all tariffs and taxes, significant opportunities in the Canadian market are set to emerge.  As current tariffs and taxes on food and drink imports can be prohibitively high, the CETA Agreement will have a critical impact on international access to the Canadian food and drink market.

The Canadian market is approximately three times the size of Sweden and is considered to be a strategic testing ground before entering the U.S. market. Swedish brands enjoy an excellent reputation in Canada and Canadian consumers are known to be open to new products. While Canada is geographically large, it is home to a strong distribution network and a vast and varied selection of food and drink.

While the Canadian market presents many attractive opportunities, the regulatory environment can be quite difficult to navigate, particularly pertaining to alcoholic beverages. Additionally, it can be difficult to find the right partner with whom to approach this product.

At this seminar, we will provide you with an overview of the Canadian market including:

  • Statistics on the size and scope of the sector

  • Opportunities, challenges and trends in the food and non-alcoholic beverage/alcoholic beverage sector

  • An analysis of the consumption trends that drive sales

  • An overview of the supply chain, including information on importation, retail sales and distribution

  • Details on important regulatory issues to be aware of

  • Implications that CETA, the recently signed free-trade agreement between Canada and the EU, will have for foreign companies that are active, or hoping to be active, in the Canadian market

The seminar is free of charge. Please register below.

You will also have the opportunity to attend a similar seminar – China Food & Beverage Market Seminar – right before this seminar at 8.30 – 10.00 at the same venue. Read more and register here to the China Food & Beverage Market Seminar.
