Swedish-Tunisian Business Forum

Business Sweden and the Embassy of Tunisia in Stockholm, in coorporation with Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, cordially invite you to a Swedish-Tunisian Business Forum in presence of H.M.K Carl XVI Gustaf and H. E. Beji Caid Essebsi.

President Beji Caid Essebsi will be accompanied by a business delegation with high level representatives from different sectors in Tunisia, as well as a political delegation with representatives from the Tunisian government. The Business Forum highlights the government visions for Tunisia 2020, focusing on four strategic sectors for the Tunisian economy: ICT, sustainable city development, infrastructure and transport and manufacturing industries.

Tunisia's diverse, market-oriented economy has long been seen as an example in Africa and the Middle East, although it faces an array of challenges following the 2011 revolution. Tunisia’s transition to democracy is a success story. With its modern constitution Tunisia has organized free and fair parliamentary and presidential elections in 2014.

Tunisia’s strongest asset may be its cohesive society, without any sectarian, ethnic, religious or tribal divides. Intense efforts by the Tunisian security services have strengthened the capability to keep the country safe and secure from terrorist threats. The country’s modernization process dates back to the 19th century, and the population is largely urbanized and well educated, with a broad middle class. A new broad based government has started to tackle socio-economic challenges. Greater political certainty, reforms and a determination to spread economic growth throughout the country lead to an improved business climate. Furthermore, the ambition to reach geographical and economic integration of isolated regions makes infrastructure and transport a top priority. Fertile ground for successful Swedish-Tunisian cooperation is also to be found within manufacturing and ICT.

The Business Forum aims to provide an opportunity to get valuable first hand insight into what the current political leaders is planning for the country, and learn more about current and future Swedish-Tunisian partnerships. This is the time to engage with Tunisia!
