Google have today confirmed that they have acquired a property of 109 hectares in Horndal, Avesta Municipality.

According to company spokesperson Farshad Shadloo, Google currently have no plans to develop this site but want to ensure that they have options to continue to expand their data center presence in Europe if their business demands it. They don’t expect to take any decision on this in the near future.

“I am very pleased that Company, one of the world's most well-known brands, has acquired land in Avesta in Dalarna. Business Sweden cooperates with regions across Sweden to identify opportunities for international companies to invest and expand in Sweden, and it’s a privilege to have worked closely with Company and the teams in Avesta throughout the process.” Ylva Berg, CEO Business Sweden.
