Chinese wind turbine manufacturer invests in Swedish wind farm

Envision Energy has acquired a 25MW project in Sweden and will supply its 2.3 MW and 3 MW three-bladed turbines to the site. This is the first time the Chinese wind turbine manufacturer has installed its machines in Europe, according to Windpowermonthly.com

Envision plans to complete the Kafjarden project by September 2016, which is the "first in an expected series of investments in Europe", according to a spokesperson. The project is located near Eskilstuna, southeastern Sweden.

- We are very excited about this acquisition as the first project investment in our European expansion and believe that it will be a great opportunity to demonstrate our technological ability, said the company's executive director and head of international business, says Felix Zhang to Windpowermonthly.com.

Sten Engström, responsible for Investment Promotion for the Cleantech Industry at Business Sweden comments:

- This is an important investment for Sweden as it brings new capital to the Swedish Wind Power Industry and that Envision firmly establish itself as a supplier of wind turbine generators to the Swedish market.
