en bild
On the occasion of the visit by H. E. Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, to Stockholm, January 31 2017, the Federal German Government and the Government of Sweden will launch an in-depth cooperation partnership within the field of innovation.

As a result of the Swedish State Visit to Germany in October, which focused on mobility, digitalisation, e-health and innovation, a Swedish-German innovation partnership is launched during Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Stockholm.

Ms Ylva Berg, CEO of Business Sweden will give the opening remarks to the four round table discussion, during which German and Swedish representatives from academia, politics and the private sector will discuss common challenges and possibilities for cooperation in the following areas

  • Mobility – electrified roads
  • Digitalisation – common testbeds
  • Digitalisation – boosting digitalisation in SME
  • E-health – solutions for the health care of tomorrow

Following the round table discussions the Heads of State, Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, will give statements concerning the bilateral innovation cooperation.

The thematic areas and bilateral dialogues are results of and a continuation of the long term commitment from both countries to further increase their cooperation. This is reflected in previous bilateral discussions organized by the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden and a variety of ministries, associations and organisations throughout the years. Key activities and forums include the mobility initiative in 2010, the continuous e-health seminars since 2011 and the recent Swedish state visit to Germany in October 2016.

The partnership can benefit from previous activities, established networks and ongoing collaborations. Business Sweden will actively continue to promote dialogues in both countries in order to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
