This is a very positive development, says Trade Commissioner to Mexico, Olof Hällerman. Business Sweden´s main objective is to help Swedish companies grow global sales, these statistics show that we are moving in the right direction and working toward our objective.

Apart from Business Sweden´s efforts to attract Swedish companies to the market, Mexico is also contributing well by offering promising business opportunities. With a population of over 120 million, Mexico is the largest Spanish speaking country in the world and the 11th largest economy globally. Due to this, and its competitive cost levels as well as the strategic geographical position between the U.S and Canada in the North, and Central and South America in the south, it is considered one of the most promising markets in Latin America. Mexico also has Free Trade Agreements with over 40 countries, more than any other nation in the world.

By the end of 2014 the total sum of exports from Sweden to Mexico was 4 533 000 000 SEK (around 549 MUSD). In December 2017, the same number had increased to 6 535 000 000 SEK (around 791 MUSD). This rising curve gives a 44 percent increase of Swedish exports in four years.

We at Business Sweden are of course happy about these numbers, although they do not make us relax. There are still a lot of opportunities out there on the Mexican market just waiting for Sweden´s many innovative and productive companies. If you are interested in growing your global sales on the Mexican market, you are more than welcome to contact me or my team, says Olof Hällerman
