On December 6, for the fourth year in a row, Business Sweden Russia organized a much appreciated SymbioCare seminar at the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow. The main aim of the event is to create networking opportunities with local key decision-makers both on the federal and regional level using the well-known Swedish brand and support of the correspondent public organizations from Sweden. The event takes place during the Nobel week, which is well known in Russia and draws advantages from the positive perceptions associated with the Swedish brand and innovations.

Participating Swedish companies were AstraZeneca, Elekta, Diaverum, Gambro (Baxter) and Getinge Group. As a key note speaker we invited Mr. Jörgen Larsson, Professor, Dean emeritus at Karolinska Institutet, Senior Advisor and Consultant at the Department of Innovation and Development in Karolinska University Hospital. He talked about hospitals operational efficiency improvement and how to achieve maximum economic effect from implementation of innovations. Mr. Larsson also presented Karolinska University Hospital case.

Year after year, the key focus of the event is on Swedish healthcare management solutions, which are innovative, experience enhancing and cost-effective. The event brings together Swedish organizations and companies working within medical equipment, infections control and antibiotics resistance, pharmaceuticals and medical innovations, organization and care processes.

Around 100 people attended the event in 2016. The majority of the guests were chief physicians of key healthcare institutions in Moscow and Moscow region. Many representatives of medical authorities and pharmaceutical inspection bodies also took part in the seminar.

- SymbioCare 2016 created amazing atmosphere of Swedish hospitality which was ”competing” with striking presentations and sophisticated program. The format of the event chosen by Business Sweden allows not only to exchange experiences on the work of the healthcare systems of both countries but also continue to dialogue in an informal atmosphere, says Andrey Kolesnikov, GR Manager AstraZeneca

The most appreciated take away for the participating companies, was the opportunity to invite their existing contacts to a perceived high status setting. They also had a chance to invite potential new contacts to the event. The verdict by the companies after the event was that the desired counterparts showed up and useful contacts were established and reinforced.

The high professional level of organization of the event and its relevance to the business and medical communities allows me (us - AstraZeneca) hope that this year we will meet again in the framework of “Symbiocare 2017"! says Andrey Kolesnikov.
